Mavic 3 Pro LEAKS, iPhone 13 NEW features, and MORE! — Photo & Tech News #2
--
Hello all! Welcome to the second week of Photo & Tech News on Medium! Note that this news is from August 27th to September 3rd! I was a few days late publishing this, so I hope that you still enjoy!
- We may be getting the iPhone 13 on the 24th of September!
- While on the topic of Apple… It came out that Tim Cook received a 750 MILLION dollar bonus for the 10th anniversary of Apple!
- If you want more info on the ongoing chip shortage, I found this BBC article for you!
- The DJI Mavic 3 or 3 Pro was leaked! We have some specs, including a whole terabyte of internal memory, over 40 minutes of flight-time, and a new smart controller!
- Back on Apple briefly because it came out that the iPhone 13 may have satellite calling capabilities!!!
- Another cool article for you is from Ars Technica on Google’s long and complex history in the messaging business! I think that this article is pretty interesting!
- Yep, the Xiaomi laptop is here! The Mi Ultrabook is coming and Android Authority has an article on it!
- I always like to try and cover the Lineage OS project! The OS now supports the Mi 11, Poco x3, Galaxy M20, and more!
- Google Pixel 5a users are reporting overheating issues! Now, I remember this happening with the 4a, but this does seem worse than last year. Apparently there are issues with 4k video after 4 minutes and some other reports during different usages.
- Microsoft revealed that Windows 11 is not going to be complete upon launch! It will be missing the Android Apps that were promised at the presentation. I won’t lie, I kinda lost interest in them when they said Amazon was making them. Why?!
- A new Pixel Stand with 23w fast wireless charging is coming to support the upcoming Pixel 6!
- The Chrome browser may look different, and if you thought you noticed a change, you are absolutely right! The browser on Android is a bit darker in dark mode.
- Chrome 93 is out, and you can see the changes on 9to5 Google.
- Something is going horribly wrong with Google Pixel 3xl phones. Devices are going into EDL mode which is basically causing non-stop rebooting. Users report that, even though it can be taken out of EDL, it will soon go back into it. This may not be Google’s fault though… This is related to the Qualcomm chip that stores data. This is supposed to keep data safe in an emergency so that you can recover it. This is extremely worrying about users, especially since the phone is out of warranty. If too many devices have this problem though, it is likely that Google will do some sort of warranty extension.
- DJI Osmo Mobile 5 was leaked prior to launch with a very accurate leak of a selfie stick in the gimbal. The gimbal did release and it is now available to pre-order.
- A survey shows that Android users are not as likely to switch to iPhone this year. This is without a doubt because of the Pixel 6’s ripples in the community. Google has done a perfect job with marketing and teasers for this phone.
- Google Chat now has GIF support FINALLY! It is a small step in the right direction. Nobody can deny that Google totally screwed up in the messaging world with the epic fail of Allo and the messaging app excuse that is Google Chat.
- This article is astonishing. I was intrigued after seeing this and the fact that these photos are “in colour” but not really.
- Unlike with the Pixel 4a, Google believes that the Pixel 6 will sell extremely well. Instead of under preparing for the launch like with the 4a, they are preparing for tons of orders!
- Google is having success after the controversial decision to kill Google Play music as YT Music hits 50 MILLION subscribers. It now makes up 8% of the music streaming market.
- Pixel 3 EDL bricking reports just grew after initial reports last week.
- Samsung revealed the first 200 MP sensor for smartphones!!!
- Google Lens is coming to your home-screen on the well known search bar on stock android! Finally, a better lens shortcut!
- Want to get rid of Instagram? TechCrunch says that Glass may be the best alternative!
- Google has redesigned Google Weather! From what I can see, it is not super huge as changes go, but it is still great!
- Gamesnacks is bringing mini gaming to chromebooks. They will do similar games to what is in Google Play Games. They are simple games to play like block (Tetris) or a total copy of subway surfers.
- XDA talks about the mind blowing impact that Google Tensor COULD have for Chromebooks if Google goes that route. I really hope that this is the perfect chance for Google to make a Pixelbook again.
Well, I am so sorry I am already a whole week late on this! I still hope you enjoyed the news!
