Heya all! It’s time for the photo and tech news from 9/3–9/10/2021! Let’s get started!
- Dark mode on Google.com is coming! What does this mean? Basically, although the app had dark mode, the site does not in other browsers! This is now changing, and now dark mode is available for all!
- The James Bond Leica camera is here! This has some wonderful specs and it really isn’t all show, if the specs can tell us anything, it is that it will take nice photos!
- A Google Weather redesign is out bringing the new weather design to the Weather app!
- The affordable 4g phone from Google and Jio’s $4.5 Million collaboration has been delayed. When the phone arrives, it will run the Google Go apps and be the most affordable 4g phone on the Indian market!
- Xiaomi’s 120w charger is coming and you better believe that your phone will be full in 25 minutes!
- The Director of Google Stadia has left. Their certainly seems to be a large amount of internal issues at Google right now and this is only one of many employees that have left Google. This person helped build Stadia, but with Stadia’s future so unsure, it makes sense. There is a lot of speculation that Stadia is going to join the Google Graveyard taking Google out of the major cloud gaming market (except for GooglePlayGames of course)
- OpenShot had an update! I am still experimenting with this editor and have no full blog posts out yet, but they have added new audio effects, stabilization (finally!) and some other really cool things utilizing AI!
- Although not the best renders ever, we have some new DJI Mavic 3 renders! From this and other leaks, we know that the drone will be carrying a sweet looking Hasselblad camera again! I mean, they own Hasselblad, but it does not stop the cameras from looking cool!
- Xiaomi is pushing the limits of what is possible with a budget phone by making the cheapest full 5g phone IN THE WORLD! Now, it isn’t a new phone (sadly), but they have dropped the Redmi Note 10 5G price to next level 5g affordability!
- DYI photography has this super cool article showing the cameras that have been shown on camera in the Spiderman films and shows. It seems that unlike most films, this one has no set company. Cameras from Canon, Nikon, and Yashica show up across the shows and films.
- Fellow Google Pixel fans, we have a new feature! It is called “Smart Storage” and works as Google Photos kinda does by deleting backed up photos and videos, but this is in Google Files and will automatically do it after a certain number of days!
- The Android Private Compute core will now update, separately from the rest of the OS!
- Material You has rolled out in Android betas!
- Apple has come out and said that motorcycles degrade the iPhone cameras. Apparently the gyroscopes start breaking after exposure to this level of vibrations.
- Leica has a new camera for the Boston Dynamics dog! It can fly too!
- A huge break through has occurred in quantum computer research, bringing new levels of speed!
- Adobe spent a ton of money buying frame.io… but why? This is an article explaing this why question!
- The Vivo x70 pro is coming with high end cameras, a custom sensor, and more!
- Kindles are having a UI update! If you are a Kindle reader, navigation should become better and will also bring brightness adjustment, airplane mode and more!
- Google has an internet service called Google Fiber in cities and has done so for quite a few years now! Cnet covers the question “how good is it?”.
- KSL covers the fact that some of famous original news coverage of 9/11 events are gone forever because of adobe flash’s discontinuation.
- There are some concerns in the Photo Editing community that Sklum may killing off their famous Luminar photo editor. They announced that a new photo editor was in the works and this may be a total replacement for Luminar.
- Epic games is discontinuing popular video calling app houseparty!
